Raya's Daddy

My Dearest Raya,

I have so many stories to tell you about your dad. From the very beginning, we’ve been through a lot together.

When I first met him, my first impression was that he was pa-cool, but as I got to know him, I realized he’s one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met.

People often judge him for how he acts, how he dresses, or because of his tattoos. But I always saw past all that. I saw a little boy inside him who’s been through so much pain, who hides his hurt behind strength and laughter. And maybe that’s why I loved him so deeply because I saw his heart when others didn’t.

Your dad may act tough, but he has one of the kindest souls. Your dad sacrificed a lot just to be with us here in the province, and for that I’m forever grateful. He wanted to make sure we were safe, loved, and together. Your dad is also very hard-headed sometimes, but I’m so glad that mommy is very understanding. That’s how love works, we learn to meet halfway, to be patient, and to choose each other every day.

When we found out I was pregnant, he became so protective of you. You were our biggest surprise, Raya. We didn’t plan for you, mommy honestly thought she couldn’t get pregnant — but you came to us anyway. You chose us. 🥺💗

Your dad loves you so much, my love. And I know you love him too. Your dad doesn’t want you to suffer, my love, so please, embrace him with all your warmth from heaven. Love him a little more, so he can slowly learn to accept what happened. Help him find peace in knowing that you’re safe, happy, and watching over us.

Whenever we miss you, we’ll look up at the clouds, hold each other close, and remind ourselves that love keeps us connected — always.
